The Social & Financial Education Project uses Aflatoun Model to socially and economically empower children and youngsters with disabilities to act as agents of change in their own lives and for a better world.
The project is being implemented in Makueni and Siaya County and targets primary school children with disabilities between the ages of 10 to 17 years, teachers and other relevant stakeholders in the education and finance sector.
Herein, facilitators/teachers are trained on Aflatoun’s active-learning methods based on the Non-Formal Education (NFE) Aflatoun Curriculum which is part of the global networks of Aflatoun whereas children and youngsters with disabilities are taught about relevant life skills, financial education and entrepreneurship skills. This will enable them have a voice, participate in social and economic activities of their households and communities, while at the same time, influencing change at community and national level as future leaders.
